Bieber Red Angus Ranch, Leola , South Dakota , was the place to be on Thursday, March 2, 2006 when they had their 31 st annual production sale. There were record numbers of people at the sale and hundreds watching on DV Auction with 102 buyers from 12 states purchasing 225 lots.

The high selling yearling Red Angus bull was Lot #1 , BIEBER PRINCE CHARLES 10086 out of a 2-year old dam, and LSF COMBINATION A301M. This yearling bull sold to Reba Kellerman-Martschling in partnership with Vulture Acres Reds, ND for $11,000. Kellerman-Marschling has been working hard at building an outstanding herd of top genetics. The 2 nd high selling yearling was also sired by LSF COMBINATION A301M. Bar R Red of ND bought Lot #5 , BIEBER TOP VALUE 10088, for $7,250. A couple of BUF CRK ROMEO L081 sons went for $7,000 each. Lot #24 went to Messmer Red Angus, ND and Lot #28 will go to partners Shamrock Nook, WI and Bowden Red Angus, WI. Lot #10 ROUSE VAQUERO R09 sold to repeat buyer Harrison Ranch of SD for $6,500. The local outfit of Kunz Northern Kross bought Lot #4 for $6,250. 91 Red Angus yearling bulls averaged $3,000.

The two-year old bulls are fast becoming a hot item at Bieber's annual bull sales. Lot #66 , BIEBER BOONE 9927, went for $5,750 to Glenn Schaffer, SD. Lot #47 , BIEBER BOONE 9958 went to LeRoy Dubray, SD for $5,500. Lot #36 , BIEBER CARCASS HAWK 10028 went to Tri R Cattle, Elliot Rustad, NE for $5,400. Lot #51 , BIEBER COMBINATION 9951, went to Schmig Farms, SD for $5,250. Lot #53 , BIEBER ROMEO 9948, went to Blooming Valley Grain and Farms, SD for $5,250. There were 46 Red Angus two-year old bulls sold in the sale averaging $3,875.

Simmental bulls that were offered at the sale averaged $1,680. The top lots in these bulls, Lot #171 , sold to Steve Jensen, SD for $2,250. The next high seller, Lot #180 , went to Corey Bader, ND for $2,250.

South Devon two year old bulls averaged $1,760 with the top animal, Lot 186 , going to Mike Riley, WY for $2,800.

The 18 Black Red Angus yearling bulls that we offered averaged $2,015. The top sellers in this group went to Doug Schrader, IA. He purchased Lot #151 and Lot #150 for $3,250 and $3,000 respectively. John Oban, SD bought Lot #152 for $ 2,500 and Knox Farms, SD bought Lot #153 for $2,500.

Bieber Red Angus offered 52 open yearling heifers at this sale. The top Red Angus heifer sold to Sunny Point Farms, KY for $1,450. She was Lot 223 . Lot #231 was the top Black Red Angus/ Angus open heifer selling to Vulture Acres Reds, ND for $1,250. The high selling Simmental open heifers, Lot 242 , went to Brian Brockel, SD for $1,100.
